Critique Nights
Critique nights take place on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 6:30- 9:00 pm. They are free to the public, but cash donations of $10 are encouraged for participating artists.
Share Your Voice
The volunteers of Avenue for the Arts are looking to have a group discussion with artists in their twenties who have completed undergraduate art programs within the past four years. We would like to hear about recent graduates' experiences of living in Grand Rapids. What has their artistic practice been like post-school? Where have they looked for community? What are the current challenges they face as an artist? Etc. Our goal is to facilitate an open and honest conversation so we can understand how to better serve recent graduates. We are also creating new resources for art school seniors and want to make sure we provide them with the most useful information.
The focus group will take place on Tuesday, July 28th from 6:30–8pm at the 106 Gallery (106 S Division Ave, Grand Rapids). The gallery is three blocks from Rapid Central Station, two blocks from the nearest DASH stop, has bike racks out front, and free on-street parking.
Participants will be paid $20 for their time and provided dinner. Apply here.
